After meeting your guide, your tour will start with a visit to the old Sta. Cruz Monastery where St. Anthony studied, back in the 13th Century and where the first two kings of Portugal rest in peace. Here, you will learn about the foundation of this important Monastic Academy, as well as the students' tradition started by the Jesuit rules during their administration of the University, some of which are still in use today.
Your next stop will be the historical building of the University of Coimbra where you'll hear stories of horror at the "Academic Dungeons", curiosities about the "Joanina" Library and learn about the University's traditions as the "Students' Parade" to celebrate Graduation Day!
Your guide will take you than to the to the old cathedral of Coimbra, where you will hear stories of Moor and Christian fights and why Coimbra was set as the first Capital of Portugal, before finishing your tour.

This tour starts inside the Lobby of Câmara Municipal de Coimbra (the building with the various flags, just beside Sta. Cruz Church).
